Design primarily aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and missiles. In addition, they test prototypes to make sure that they function according to design.

Biomedical Engineers

Combine engineering principles with medical and biological sciences to design and create equipment, devices, computer systems, and software used in healthcare.

Civil Engineers

Design, build, supervise, operate, and maintain construction projects and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment.

Development Engineers

Create a product design that fulfills a company or client’s strategic goals while integrating the needs of marketing, sales and manufacturing departments. They over see research and design teams, lead testing procedures and draft specifications for manufacturing.

Electrical Engineering

Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military,or scientific use.

Food Engineering

also known as agricultural and food scientists, combine engineering concepts with microbiology, chemistry and other sciences to create the best ways to make processed foods tasty, healthy and safe. They’re responsible for every step of food production, from production to distribution.

Genetic Engineers

Develop organisms better suited to meet environmental challenges and suit the needs of modern medicine.

Highway Engineers

Plan, design, construct operate, and maintain roads, bridges, and tunnels to ensure safe and effective transportation of people and goods.

Insulation Engineers

Install insulating materials around pipes, boilers and duct work. They can work in factories, offices, power stations or on ships.

Jet Engineers

Responsible for ensuring that all components of the plane are in proper working order.

Kinetic Engineers

Bring innovative projects and designs to market

Light Engineers

Produce the lighting effects for live events such as theater, concerts and conferences, or in film and TV productions.

Mechatronics Engineers

Combine aspects of mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering in order to increase efficiency in the production and function of manufactured goods.

Nuclear Engineers

Research and develop the processes, instruments, and systems used to derive benefits from nuclear energy and radiation.

Oil and Gas Engineers

(also called petroleum engineers)work with geologists and other specialists to understand the geologic formation of the rock containing the reservoir. They then determine drilling methods, design and implement the drilling equipment, and monitor operations.

Paper Engineers

Deals with the usage of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics) and life sciences(e.g. biology and biochemistry)in conjunction with mathematics as applied to the converting of raw materials into useful paper products and co-products.

Quality Engineers

Monitor and audit the quality of all manufactured goods in a variety of industries, including the automobile, textile, clothing, food, and electronics industries. They work to not only find defects, but also to find the cause of the defect and develop a solution.

Railroad Engineers

Responsible for drivingthe engine, as well asthe mechanicaloperation of the train, train speed, and all trainhandling

Systems Engineers

Someone who combines their knowledge of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop, test and evaluate software, circuits, personal computers and more. They don’t simply engineer computer technology, but understand how that technology fits into the larger scheme of professional and personal needs.

Telecommunications

Design and install equipment used for transmitting wired phone, cellular, cable and broad band data. Day-to-day responsibilities can include working with copper or fiber optic cabling, complex networks and switching systems.

Utilities Engineers

Work in various energy producing industries, such as electricity, hydraulic, nuclear or green energy. Some conduct research about the changes in energy use over time and predict how much energy will be needed in the future. Others maintain current energy producing equipment.

Ventilation Engineers

Install and service the heating and air conditioning systems found mainly in larger buildings like office blocks, factories, schools and hospitals.

Water Resource Engineers

Develop new equipment and systems for water resource management facilities across the United States. The systems that Water Resource Engineers create ensure that citizens are provided with a continuous supply of clean, uncontaminated water for drinking, living, and recreational purposes.

X-Ray Engineers

Maintains and repairs x-ray equipment.

Yield Engineers

Analyze bulk data sets, to find causes for yield trends and yield value changes. Work with database and SQL servers to improve and refine data sets for analysis. Track the impact of process improvements and incidents and predict the impact to yield. Evaluate process change susing statistical analysis methods for effectiveness and risk Improve systems, documentation and procedures Drive projects and cross-functional teams for yield improve mentor methodology improvement.
