If car starts skidding

do not brake, take feet off the accelerator and turn steering wheel in direction of the skid

If brakes fail, don’t panic

pump the brakes to give some pressure back shift vehicle to a lower gear/then gently use parking break

If you get a flat tire or experience a blowout

do not brake, steer straight ahead, take your foot off the gas, and apply your brakes

to avoid flat tires and blowout

check pressures of your tires frequently

During collision,

stop and give name and address registration number of the vehicle you were driving name of insurance provider Must also show driver license If any person was injured from crash, find medical assistance

Failure to help any injured person or remain at the scene of the crash

is a second degree felony( 2-20 years of jail and $10,000 fine)

If after car crash, individual is injured or died

contact the police

If unattended vehicle is damage

give name, address, and signed statement of what happened

If police approaches

move to the right edge of the road and stop park car set parking brake turn on hazard lights remain in car and lower window

Who must wear seat belts?

In TX, everyone children under age 8 shorter than 4 feet, 9 inches must be secured in a child passenger safety seat

where should child be seated on a motorcycle?

on the sidecar attached to the motorcycle

For vehicles w/ open beds

child under age of 18 cannot sit in the open bed
