Why I Chose Dental Assistance

Before, I had never thought about pursuing any course other than criminal justice. Since I was a child, I loved the law and dreamt of a world where everyone would get justice. However, a course in criminal justice is demanding. It requires a great deal of time studying, completing assignments, and attending classes. Being a single parent, I realized that working full time and pursuing my course in criminal justice would not work out in my favor and my child. I spent a little time with my kid and my performance at work became poor. These challenges prompted me to think of changing my life for the better. I thought of other careers that I would pursue comfortably while working and taking care of my child but none came forth.

One day, as I was browsing the Internet on short courses that I could pursue, dental assistance propped up and from the moment I read the learning objectives and outcomes, I knew that is what I wanted to do. With a dental assistance career, I could live comfortably. My love for kids also played a big role in my decision. A career in the dental assistance field would give me an opportunity to work with children and make their health better. There is no better feeling than ensuring a kid is healthy and can smile while playing with others. I’m also a big fan of healthy breath and over the years, I have taken the time to learn how to ensure hygiene in my mouth. Dental assistance would not only give me a chance to have an in-depth knowledge on how to maintain my hygiene, but also the same of others. I look forward to this course and will give my best to be successful.
